(TRADE NEWSWIRE): There is no doubt that there is increased traffic and insecurity in Lagos in recent times as reported by The Economist, but it is receiving due attention from the state government, TRADE NEWSWIRE reports.
To now make a premature judgement by summarily saying that a governor is incompetent in less than six months in office of four-year tenure is premature, mischievous and unfair with regards to journalism ethics.
The world of today as gone pass just condemning without propounding a single solution on the way forward as exemplified in The Economist’s analysis, as i had expected way forward to be suggested, rather than passing degrading judgement that made the write-up suspicious and mischievous.
However, Lagos State Government should step-up efforts to address array of challenges facing the state and her people.
SUGGESTED STRATEGIES TO CURB INSECURITY IN LAGOS
– Governor Akinwunmi Ambode should meet with owners/ managers of all jetties and beach resorts in Lagos state for information sharing on activities of the these places and suspicious movement on waterways.
– Lagos state govt in collaboration with the Federal Government security agencies should as a matter of urgency beam their searchlight on residents in small towns/communities located around all beaches in Lagos state just as it is done in the mainland, there could be some scoop to that effect, i am sure, just to mention a few.
NIGERIA SHALL BE GREAT AND LAGOS SHALL CONTINUE TO BE PROSPEROUS.
